In a meditative environment we explore fluidity around the  spine, breath & joint spaces  with wave motion, gentle & expansive movements that enliven, increase mobility & self discovery, natural  developmental movements with the elements of fire, earth, air & water , guided hands on touch, partnering & witnessing

Emilie Conrad’s Continuum Movement’s innovative approach to resiliency & strength:

 Allow your animal body the soft embrace of a class that listens, inspires and challenges while inviting more strength & flexibility!

Includes instruction in use of weights, balls, chairs & Exploreboards  with rich & diverse music.

Because of the highly individualized nature of this work, people with special needs such as chronic injuries are benefited as well as yoga practitioners, athletes and anyone who desires more core strength & fluidity. It is helpful, but not mandatory to have had some Yoga, Continuum or Inner Dance movement experience.BEGINNERS WELCOME, ask instructor about appropriateness of class for you.

MOVING WITH:  Inner Dance for Couples: class exploring movement in partnership, intended for couples, housemates or friends who want ways of being together in support & fluidity. All bodies & genders welcome. Saturday 11am-1pm  Call for dates

NEWCOMERS welcome at the beginning of the month, space permitting. Held in a new spacious Westside SC studio & Downtown SC. Wear comfortable clothes . Call for info or to register, these classes fill rapidly. $36/3 classes. Private sessions available

Val Leoffler is a bodywork & Trager practitioner, clinical hypnotherapist & movement educator who has had an innovative & lively bodywork practice in Santa Cruz for 23 years.  She is nationally certified & facilitates workshops in healing through movement, is an authorized Continuum Movement &  Continuum Jungle Gym instructor, leads weekly Inner Dance & Moving On classes, has taught at Twin Lakes College, UCSC, Cabrillo & throughout the SC community. She has extensively trained with Emilie Conrad, founder of Continuum, for 20 years, studied developmental movement systems with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen & creative arts with the Tamalpa Institiute. Her training also includes 22 years of yoga (Iyengar & TriYoga), a blackbelt in Judo, women’s health and an extensive background in working with injury & recovery.
